I looove a good thrift before and after. It's an instant face lift for a tired piece of furniture! Paint is a magical thing that can take that inexpensive piece you scored into an amazing priceless find!!
Today is the day. I have watched my dear friends Lance & David plan, sweat and execute the most amazing space in the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Show House and Gardens .
Parker Kennedy Living has created an outdoor space, the master terrace. I have one word for the result ... EPIC!! With its Palm Beach theme and amazing furniture and accessories, it provides eye candy for days!!!
Welcome to week 4!!!
I am in the process of redecorating our outside screened porch and surrounding deck area and linking up with 83 other bloggers courtesy of Calling It Home!! If you missed last week ... you can catch up here!!
O..M..G!!!! It's week 4! This is panic week for me! The porch still isn't painted due to pollen and maj rain. But ... I will deep breathe and know all will happen in perfect time! Once I actually post the pictures of all I have completed I will feel like I have accomplished more than I realize!

Monday evening the weather was perfect and I was sitting outside on the deck enjoying the amazing weather. In my search for a
forget-the-long-hard-meeting-at-school-where-I-always-cry refreshing drink I pulled out my trusty bottle of sweet tea vodka. Mixed it up with some lemonade, a few sliced of lemon and a fun straw, poured in a large mason jar and plopped myself down outside.

I had the amazing luck of stumbling across Emily McCarthy years ago when I first started reading blogs. I immediately loved everything about her. At the time she was just transitioning from working at Swoozies to breaking out on her own as a stationery designer. I was drawn in by her attention to detail, her love of all things colorful and geometric and her well written blog posts.
Yes! It's Friday and I needed this Friday like a mouse needs cheese!!
I have this on my radar this weekend and since I just planted mint this week I think the timing is nothing short of perfection!
Happy weekend to you!!
Welcome to week 3!!!
I am in the process of redecorating our outside screened porch and surrounding deck area and linking up with 83 other bloggers courtesy of Calling It Home!! If you missed last week ... you can catch up here and here!! I am in shock that the challenge is at the half way point ... I have sooo much to do!
When we scheduled our trip to Tybee Island I contacted a local friend and Savannah native Amanda of Dixie Delights for the low down on eating and drinking in the area. She was fabulous. She gave me the name of every single place to eat, what day to go and what to order! It was like my very own Tybee concierge!
Yes peeps, its true. Brass has made a huge comeback. Remember all that time and energy we spent ridding our lives of the 1980's brass. Now we are spending that same time and energy (and money) adding it to our 2014 homes!
Instead of my typical one topic as Inspiration du jour this Monday I have a list of favorites for you!! I will blog on this topic on an occasional basis, during times when I feel inspired by many things and not just one. When one thing isn't overwhelming me and pushing me in one direction or another. Today is just one of those days. I am working on my One Room Challenge and find myself finding inspiration in many places as I am working on the ORC.
Without further ado ...
sursie ... a small unexpected gift.
I love a sursie. I am a gifter. My Nana taught me early on that a small wrapped happy with a handwritten note was the best thing you could do for someone. I have taken this to heart and to this day love to give. I am frequently popping happies in people's mailboxes near and far and nothing pleases me more than to get a note, call or text that my gift has made their day!!!
Each year for the lake weekend I take monogrammed gifts. A few years it was wine glasses, one year it was iced tea glasses, one year both and last year it was bloody mary glasses and Old Navy flip flops. Its my thing and at this point they sort of expect it.
Our yearly lake girls trip is just one day away and I am beyond ready to go. It is by far my favorite weekend of the year. For a number of years 10-12 of my friends gets together and heads to Blue Ridge, Georgia for the weekend. We eat too much, drink too much, laugh until we pee and restore our selves until the next year when we do it all over again. Lawyer comments every year that he doesn't understand why I come home more tired than when I left. Boys ... they just don't understand girl chat until the wee hours!!!

I am joining up this morning with the amazing Jennifer of The Pink Pagoda in the April Blue and White Bash. In the blog world there is nothing more synonymous than pairing The Pink Pagoda and blue and white porcelain. Every picture I see mixing blue, white and color I think of Jennifer and her amazing style! I am thrilled to be linking up with her today to share my love of blue and white porcelain and COLOR!!
It's finally here! It's been like Christmas planning and waiting for today to arrive!
I participated in the One Room Challenge last October and absolutely loved the process. In six weeks I transformed our boring guest suite into two rooms I absolutely love!! I have chosen to once again participate in Calling It Home's amazing challenge ... this time transforming our porch and surrounding deck!!! I could not be more excited to be participating again! I love our porch ... but it needs some updating! Its good now ... but it will be AMAZING when its done!
I mentioned last week on Hump Day that I am not a big fan of cooking. It stresses me out to prepare a meal whilst trying to wrangle the schedules of three kids. I am not sure how well I do it .. but I make it happen a few nights a week. I am a huge believer in a family meal together. We sit down together at 6:30 during the week and whether I have slaved over the preparation of a meal or the menus of take out ... we sit down together and eat.
I do, however, love cookbooks. The cookbook must have a picture of the item or I will not make it. I am a visual learner ... and the picture seals the deal for me. Pinterest fits this bill perfectly. I get to see how it looks prepared to decide if I want to tackle it. I have a fabulous board full of yummy looking food ... perfectly labeled YUM for this exact purpose. If I don't like the picture, no matter how good it may sound, its not getting pinned and therefore won't be getting made.
This week I am sharing some super yummy pics from my Pinterest board. All links can be found here if you would like to Pin them for yourself! xo
Tuesday's around the blog are usually reserved for thrifting...since my girl Paige left me for warmer weather, I decided to mix things up a bit.
I'm Maggi, Paige's dirt loving friend. I also love wearing overalls, baseball hats & have no problem with dirt under my fingernails.
