It's Day 5 of the Autumn Blog Hop and I am delighted to share with you today's stop ... the one and only incredibly talented Dixie Delights!
Tomorrow is the official first day of Autumn and I am finally feeling a change in the air. That crisp air is inspiring me to gather pumpkins, make soup and add flannel to my daily wardrobe. My precious friend Ashley sent me this to die for Pumpkin Souffle candle and I lit it on Saturday in my first experience with fall in the house!
I may or may not have mentioned that the kids were home this week for Fall break. Why do we have a fall break you wonder? Well, that would be due to the fact that our children start school the first week of August. Crazy, I realize, but its true!
So the kids and hubs were home, except for that quick trip to NYC, and we had a wonderful week of relaxing, reading and catching up on life!
(End of day 1 ... 20 miles down!)
If you know me IRL you know I don't work out. I am active, but I don't belong to the gym and I don't run or walk on a regular basis. I know I should, but the truth is I don't.
I don't like tennis shoes and I loathe socks. Growing up as a Floridian I only wore flip flops and they are by far my shoe of choice. I wear them 9 months out of the year in some fashion or another, and it's just me. Putting on a pair of socks (which I usually have to borrow from Little Bit) and tennis shoes is very out of the norm for me.
Today is always a day of remembrance for us as Americans. A day that changed our lives forever. We all know where we were and many whose lives were never again the same.
I learned a lot that day. What it meant to be a country and truly what it meant to be an American with brothers and sisters all around me. I am forever grateful for those who sacrificed their lives that day and since then to keep us safe and protected.
Wishing us all a day of peace and love on this very special day.
God bless America.
So my precious friend Amanda is nursing another hurt ankle ... or as she calls it Anklegate 2.0.
Since there is very little I can do to support her other than pop in with happies and send her funny texts to lift her spirits, Little Bit and I decided she could use a yummy dinner! And since we all know cooking isn't my thing ... I had to make sure I made something I knew would be delish!
Lucky for all of us ... I am a master of the Walking Taco!!!
Of course you know my passion for all things vintage! That passion most definitely includes vintage wallpaper! I have a number of rolls in my workroom just waiting for the perfect project. And while working in the bar area this weekend ... the perfect opportunity to use a room presented itself!
Well, since the One Room Challenge is less than a month (FREAK OUT MOMENT) away, I have started pulling together ideas for our master bedroom and bathroom. And before the hubs has a heartache when he reads this ... I am only adding a few fluff changes to the master bedroom.
If you follow me on Instagram ... I posted a small version of this picture on Sunday. I was in the middle of tackling the bed at the mailbox area and chatting with the hubs about my plan to replace our mailbox. When I laid out my master plan for him and got to the amount it was going to cost (about $400) ... he stopped, looked at me and promptly said ... you are not spending that kind of money on a mailbox!
I have mentioned many times that Mondays around here are for restocking the house with fresh flowers. Since yesterday was a holiday ... today was flower day! My favorite things to fill with flowers are my vintage finds.
I am inspired by so many things. Clearly, or this Monday installment would have been the shortest running series ever! Most of the things that inspire me are things I see, as I am a visual learner. That is why Pinterest is so fabulous for me ... it allows me an unending number of cork boards for tear sheets of things I see that I love!
The one board I use the most on Pinterest is the Words to Live By board. I pin to it daily ... and pull from it just as often.
