Kate Spade Madison Ave

Thursday morning I woke up excited about the day ... but having no idea how epic it would be.  Three of us had set aside the day and made late flights to be able to enjoy the city and take in some serious shopping.  And at the end of the day well after midnight when my head hit the pillow I remember thinking ... was this day real?
After a quick run to Starbucks we headed to Madison Avenue.  The Kate Spade Flagship store is truly like none other.  Set in what appears to be a previous residence, the six story store is absolutely amazing.  Complete with an elevator and the most amazing vintage staircase, it feels as if you are shopping in Kate Spade's amazing Madison Avenue apartment.  Each of the first four floors has its own shopping and the cellar and 5th floor are set aside for office space and a board room.

Those chandeliers have been on my radar since spotting one being installed in our trade show booth.  It is amazing and I would love to own one ... sadly they aren't available.  They are made for Kate Spade and hang in most stores.  Every single person who stepped into the NY Now booth asked about the light.  And each one being told it wasn't for sale had the same sad sigh I did.  The cluster of them here made me gasp.

Don't you love this gathering of classic Kate Spade phrases?  Seen on the back wall of the first floor and such a fun conversation piece.  It makes me want one installed in my basement bar area ... how amazing would that be?

The stair case.  I love so many things about this ... the gallery wall, the stairs and the gold accents.  Modern perfection.

Details for days ~

I have been dreaming of velvet chairs ever since this moment, tufted velvet chairs.
And those pillows ... #yesplease!

We were greeted by the general manager who rolled out the pink carpet for us and treated us like royalty.  We gathered up arm fulls of things to try on and they popped champagne for our visit.

Pink champagne ... complete with Mrs glasses!  I love that it says "with its bubbly character, citrusy bouquet and subtle dash of spice, we hope it lends every occasion a bit of sparkle".

Cue the confetti ~

We drank, shopped and snapped pics for hours.  Literally hours ... so much so that we completely missed our ticket time for the Matisse exhibit at the Moma.  They lovingly offered to order in lunch for us to eat in the board room but after drinking an entire bottle of Rose we needed pasta, bread and some fresh air!

It was very hard leaving the amazing shop and our new besties.  I could have moved into that store and slept on any of those amazing velvet sofas, but all good things must come to an end and we toted our many bags and packages into a darling Italian restaurant across the street for some much need protein.

The afternoon was a whirlwind ... we stopped into Laduree, Kate Spade Saturday, C Wonder (the very last location) and ended the early evening at the Kate Spade store in the flat iron district.  They lovingly offered to ship our packages home so packing would not be an issue. Since packing wouldn't be an issue Natalie and I both snagged the just released love birds heart tote.  There are many things I brought home that will forever remind me of that day ... but that tote is the best!

Absolutely magical day that I won't ever forget ...

And the perfect end to an amazing life changing week!
