Punch On The Porch

To kick off summer vacation my sweet friends and I gathered on our newly restyled porch. We are still waiting on a few things to call the porch complete but that doesn't mean we can't use it while we wait! I love to have a house full of people and I can't think of a better reason to celebrate than another school year said and done.  This one was a doozie and I can't say I am sad to see it go for our middle child but for our youngest I have loved every second.  I love her school, her precious teachers and most of all the darling little friends she chooses to share her days with while she is there.  End of school + punch on the porch was the best idea I have had in a while. 🎉

I love every single thing Kimberly Whitman does so I was really excited when she sent me a copy of her new book Parties Around A Punch Bowl.  I am thrilled to say I purposely chose a punch theme so I could use a recipe from the book and prepare a delicious punch for my sweet friends.  Can you think of a better book for me, punch is one of my favorite things to serve and I really believe everyone should have a few punch recipes in their repertoire for entertaining others. Punch is easy to make and always a crowd pleaser, even when your crowd is just a party of four.

This lifestyle and entertaining expert is one to immediately add to your radar if she isn't already on it.  Kimberly has numerous books on entertaining and a stunning line of monogrammable linens she created with artist Jen O'Neal. You must visit Halo Home, you would love every single item. For me Kimberly Whitman is one of the few I refer to for hostess tips and recipe ideas.  She is an incredible hostess and one of the sweetest women I know.  Clearly I have a crush and I was thrilled when she sent me a copy of her amazing new book!

The was the debut for my darling elephant console.  I love it so very much.  It is perfect in this spot on the porch (more images to come).  The top is ideal for setting up a cocktail station and the front has extra storage which I haven't even had a chance to explore as of yet.  Isn't she amazing?

Since all of us are fans of ginger beer I chose to make her Moscow Mule Punch.  Easy to make and beyond yummy I was pretty excited to share a pitcher of these drinks with my friends.  Promptly at 4 we cheered, hugged and clinked glasses filled with the flavors of ginger beer, mint and fresh lime.

It was a simple spread ... I made a cheese and cracker tray, my sweet friend Kristi brought chicken salad (two flavors) and pimento cheese (YUM) and my friend Nicole brought cookie cake for the girls and a tart for us.  The kids ate a popcorn mix and pizza (thanks Allyson!) and watched a movie after hanging at the pool.  It was a simple hang out afternoon which was good since I had fallen earlier in the day and was more than sore!  We had a wonderful time just chatting and catching up and relaxing and it turned out to be the best way to spend our first afternoon of summer.

As for the punch ... it was super easy to mix up and everyone loved it!  I highly recommend you purchase the book and make the delicious punch!  I have two more planned to make in the next few weeks so stay tuned.

Have the best day ... and one more day until the super long weekend!  💗💙
