The Perfect Fall Table

Happy Monday!! I hope your weekend was amazing.  It is pouring rain in Atlanta and is quite chilly, but the weekend was a stunning one with blue skies and a wonderful breeze.  I have been dying to set a table on the deck and eat outside.  I love alfresco dining, it just makes the meal and time so much better for me.  It was quite chilly on Saturday so I waited until Sunday to plan an outside meal.  We have such pretty falls in Atlanta and I wanted to make sure we took advantage of the beautiful days.  I will say I had to pick quite a few leaves off the table when the wind blew, but it was worth every second to enjoy the incredible weather.  I don't know about you, but for me eating outside just makes the food taste even better!  🍊

For quite a while I have admired the incredible tortoise melange flatware from the Bunny Williams collection for Ballard Designs.  I am a huge fan of tortoise and always think it adds a great multilayered neutral. Tortoise is so timeless and it is a pattern that I never tire to see and use.

I paired our Blue Willow plates + some antique orange and white salad plates and Chinoiserie place mats and a vintage pink tablecloth.  These place mats are so pretty and the quality is incredible and they look like a real charger. (There are three different place mat patterns available and you must check out all three!) The perfect combination of orange, blue, green and gold pulled the table together so very well.  Since the plates, place mats and flatware had pattern I paired it with these navy banded dinner napkins.

Since the new Ballard Designs Atlanta store opened this summer I find it so easy to pop over for some shopping and amazing inspiration.  For this table the starting point for me was the place mat.  I knew I wanted to use orange + pink with our Blue Willow plates and the Imari pattern of the place mats was the perfect choice.  From there it came together so very quickly, with some brass candle sticks, the white elephants that stay on our outside table, a few orange candles and these bee glasses which we have owned for many years.  I also pulled these monogram swizzle sticks (the best), added some orange ribbon to our elephants and trimmed the myrtle topiary that sits on the table.  I loved it so very much.

As I sit this morning and listen to the rain snuggled under a blanket in our master sitting area I am thrilled to see all these images of a sunny weekend that I will not soon forget. As you can see the sun was stunning and the weather perfectly mild.  It was quite breezy, so keeping the candles lit was a huge struggle and I finally gave up and just enjoyed the pretty tapers.

I hope your weekend was amazing and I have inspired you to take your table scape outside next weekend and even plan an outside Thanksgiving table.  I know it is really on my mind to be able to do so, we shall see if the weather holds up. Make sure you pop over to Ballard Designs to snag some fun pieces, especially during the Friends & Family 25% off sale.

Happy Monday!
