Honey + Almond Latte

Do you have a favorite drink from a shop that you dream about while you are at home? For me it is the Honey Almond Latte from Nordstrom.  I don't get it often, but when I need a pick me up and I am at the mall it is the drink I order every single time.  When I order a latte anywhere else I normally either order it plain with nonfat milk or rarely I will order a lavender latte if I see it as an option.  There is just something about that Honey Almond Latte that makes me so very happy and it is truly such a little treat.  I have paired it with one of their cookies or the infamous Nordy bar before and this takes it right to the next level for me.

I really wanted to try my hand at making my own special latte for the weekends when I feel we need a little something extra.  I did some research and found a pretty simple recipe from Nespresso for a fabulous Honey Almond Latte.  Because I like to be "extra" as some call me, I have made up my own for you.

First of all let me say this took a while ... I do not see myself  becoming a barista any time soon, especially one responsible for the recipes.  I can come up with fabulous ideas all day long, but I am not the girl you want pulling the recipe together.  I will be slowly down your lead time by quite a bit and that is a bad plan when it comes to caffeine. 😉

Honey Almond Latte
2-4 t. honey
1/4 t. pure almond extract
2 shots hot espresso
8 oz. warm, frothed milk (dairy, soy, or almond)

1. Add honey and almond extract to a mug and stir to combine. Pour in the hot espresso, stirring rapidly to dissolve the honey. Add the milk and stir, then top with a bit of milk froth. Serve hot and enjoy a few minutes to yourself.

I would suggest making these lattes for yourself and your sweetie this weekend and pairing them with some muffins + fresh fruit.  I love serving muffins on the weekend ... the smell of them coming out of the oven seems to wake everyone up.  Also, it is one of the few things I can bake and do well, so there is that.  My specialty seems to be gluten free with blueberries and cinnamon sugar.

I have to say they are really good!

And if you add in a mimosa or glass of champagne to your brunch I highly recommend this darling nightshirt.  Add a monogram to the sleeve or the pocket and it is completely next level.  Isn't it so cute?

Happy sipping ...

  6. Honey has been used as a food product by human since ancient times and is used as a flavouring agent in a number of food fruits as well as in a number of beverages. It also deserves a special place in religion and culture.bee hives auckland
