As I look at the list I started yesterday and realize that the day seemed not quite what I planned it to be ... I have to wonder what the hell happened? I walked around aimlessly for hours not able to get done what I wanted to do. I pictured myself running around the house and town like a girl with my hair on fire catching up on all the stuff I have put off since the kids got out of school. Well, it did not happen and I was very perplexed as to why. Then it hit me ... I am Meredith Grey! I am broken! Without giving you too much disgusting detail, I will tell you that I spent the better part of last year working very hard on a relationship that should have come much easier! As I started this year I was devastated to discover that relationship is not where I thought it was. I thought I had mad so much head way and the truth is ... not so much! It sucks! It has got me very sad and weepy and I must shake it off!!! But the good news is that when you realize things and speak them out loud they can no longer hold on to you. (Learned that in therapy - told you broken!) So now I have said it and I must work really hard to walk away from the hold this is having on me! Oh, and I also need to focus on the parent I want to be to my kids ... this too will help me! Isn't it amazing how little tiny people can do so much to heal us if we let them?
Ok, so you ask ... why the photo of Britney? Well, my 2008 could be so much browner ... I could be her! And right now being that train wreck is bad, bad! So ... to look to the bright side ... I am much greener than that grass!
On a totally different note ... here are some questions for you ...
1. I give you money and send you into the grocery store to pick up 5 items. You can only pick one thing from the following departments.. what is it?
a. produce
b. bakery
c. meat
d. frozen
e. dairy
2. Let's say we're heading out for a weekend getaway. You're only allowed to bring 3 articles of clothing with you. So, what's in your bag?
3. If I was to listen in on your conversations throughout the day, what 5 phrases or words would I be most likely to hear?
4. So, what 3 things do you find yourself doing every single day, and if you didn't get to do, you probably wouldn't be in the best mood?
5. We're talking a 3 hour block with nobody around. What 5 activities might we find you doing?
6. You just scored tickets to the taping of any show that comes on t.v. of your choice. You can pick between 4, so what are you deciding between?
7. You're hungry for ice cream. I'll give you a triple dipper ice cream cone. What 3 flavors can I pile on for ya?
8. Somebody stole your purse/wallet…in order to get it back, you have to name 5 things you know are inside to claim it. So, what's in there?
9. You are at a job fair, and asked what areas you are interested in pursuing a career in. Let's pretend you have every talent and ability to be whatever you wanted, so what 4 careers would be fun for you?
10. If you could go back and talk to the old you, when you were in high school, and inform yourself of 4 things, what would you say?
This will be my therapy for the day ... I will give you my answers tomorrow!

What's with all the homework S***! A list of 100 things and answer those questions? All fun, but when you have a 3 year old velcoed to you, going to the bathroom becomes too hard! I will see what I can do!
ReplyDeleteJune - sweet girl I am committed to the gym memborship that just cost me the amount of two people (seriously?) ... you can do a little homework for me! Plus, drop Fancy Nancy at my house! She will probably want to leave soon, but it would give you the break to pee alone!
ReplyDeleteBeing married to a lawyer I should know how to spell membership!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that we moved everything to Saturday. It is going to take me all night (and quizzing the fam)to come up with 100 things.
ReplyDeleteJust remember what Britney learned this week- "Everything sounds better when spoken in an British Accent!" It will help your therapy of saying things out loud.
