Welcome to Day 1 of the Autumn Blog Hop ...
the Lawyer House, or as the hubs calls it ...
Hoodland South!
When it comes to decorating for autumn I am very predictable. I have five things, well actually six, I need to make the house feel warm and cozy for the upcoming months! They are simple, yet they are so crucial to the feel I am looking for ... warm, cozy and inviting!
Without further adieu ... our home!!!
For me autumn is made up of five things ...
Bringing the outside in is the most important!
Real pumpkins, ...
acorns,
bamboo,
pine cones, driftwood and even an occasional star fish!
Wrapped sticks, colorful pumpkins (these fantasy ones may be the best ever),
and dried hydrangeas.
This is the time of year I find I am drawn to the colors of nature. Vibrant yellows, oranges, browns and all the shades of green!
Fresh flowers are a must have ...
Eucalyptus, sunflowers, Gerbera daisies ...
more sunflowers,
pansies, mums ...
and this year my new found love of ... crotons!
I think a good wreath ties it up for me perfectly ...
and I have a number of them inside and outside the house!
Autumn would not be complete without scented candles!!
A good masculine candle makes the room feel sexy at night ...
and this pumpkin souffle is the best thing I have ever smelled!!!
But probably the most important must have for me is pattered pillows and throws to snuggle with during the chilly evenings.
You simply can not go wrong with leopard ...
leopard ...
And even more leopard!
It works with any pillow you have ...
it may even be my favorite neutral!
And last, but certainly not least ... the warm smell and taste of the foods of the season!
Bake any and everything pumpkin, stock up on pumpkin butter, pumpkin pies and pumpkin muffins! Spiced nuts, red wine, pot roast and chili. These are the months I use my crock pot the most. Soups, stews, hot cocoa, warm oatmeal, hot coffee and tea ... it all sounds good to me!
Cuddle up with your favorite magazines, grab a cup of tea or cocoa ... and enjoy the crisp evenings surrounded by those you love!
I hope you enjoyed my list of must haves for autumn ... check out the rest of the blog hop!

I completely agree that leopard is a neutral...leave my pillows out yer round. Leopard paired with pink or aqua for the spring/summer and navy or burnt orange for the fall/winter.
