Aromatic Gin + Tonic

I am rather new to the world of Gin, only have my first Gin + Tonic a few years ago with my friend Eric Ross in Highland's, North Carolina.  What I love about a good Gin + Tonic is how light it is and how is feels like it may be the perfect summer cocktail.  Since that first Gin + Tonic I have ordered a number of them out and about and still think it is such a great summer drink.  It is light, and depending on the tonic you choose has a number of really nice flavors.   Since our first G+T together Eric and I have had quite a few of them and I try to spice them up a little just to surprise him with a new take on what is his go to drink.  I think I may have hit the jackpot for summer cocktails!

The one thing that differs with Eric and I is the gin we prefer.  I am a Hendricks girl while he prefers Bombay Sapphire. I also love to change things up and he is a purest, ordering gin, tonic and no lime.  When shopping a few weeks ago I spotted Fever Tree Aromatic Tonic and immediately wanted to give it a try.  I loved the pink color, of course, and thought it would be perfect with sliced summer fruit and some mint.

I was very correct!

I am not a gardener, but I have been growing mint all summer so it was super easy to walk out onto the deck a snip a good bit for our drinks.  I decided blueberries + peaches would be perfect along with the mint and the fun tonic.  I also grabbed a bag of dried lemon slices from Trader Joes as I had been dying to give them a try.  (Spoiler alert ... they are so fun!)

I mixed up a few Aromatic Gin + Tonics for the Hubs and I, added some delicious Jalapeno Artichoke Dip and Cape Cod chips and we sat down to enjoy the pre-sunset hour when the light is golden and perfect.

This drink is truly so yummy ... I highly recommend you make them for yourself and your next cocktail hour.  I used what was in season (peaches + blueberries) but I also it would be delicious with just berries and just citrus fruits.

I served our drinks in my custom monogram glasses + added one of my favorite monogram paper napkins.  We use these glasses a lot, so much so I should probably order a second set.  I think it is so special to have so many products with our couture monogram from my friend Emily, the monogram adds just a little something extra to any item.  You can add your monogram once it is created to any product from the Shoppe, and use it to stitch the monogram to anything.  I absolutely love my Couture Monogram.

To make the cocktail, fill your glasses with ice.  Add in a shot of gin to both glasses, then add your sliced fruit, top off with tonic and, lastly, add in the mint sprigs.  Sip and enjoy!

I hope your Saturday is a great one ... we are having a simple weekend at home getting a list of things done and I couldn't love it more! 😘
