With a daughter in college, I have begun a dive into Gameday outfits, and in the best way. Putting together an outfit when you are using an easy color is not too difficult, but for me finding crimson is a bit harder. And finding crimson pieces I feel are appropriate for me is another level of difficult. There are so many amazing and darling pieces for purchase, but I have found it a wee bit harder to find things I think are me and that I will wear again and again and for other reasons. Alabama's colors are crimson and grey but a number of people add black and white into the mix. With that being said, I find wearing all black isn't the look I am aiming for, so adding some accessories in has been my go to.
And accessories may be the best part, especially Gameday scarves!
When my girl first headed to school, I knew of only one scarf company, Swells, which I immediately purchased. The owner, Wells, is a darling who makes the best scarves for college and many other categories. If you could bottle sunshine and love, you would get a photo of the darling Wells. She is just the sweetest and kindest, and her scarves are so darling.
I found a few more this year and have secured two scarves, with my eye on a third. My second scarf was purchased from Saturday Silks. I can not recall who introduced me to Saturday Silks, but I owe them a thank you!
Founded in Houston, Texas, Saturday Silks is owned by a mother, daughter, and aunt. They designed their first scarf in 2020 and have since created 60 more designs. Beyond collegiate scarves, they love to create custom pieces and do so for the Houston Texans, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the Junior League of Houston, and a Top-Rated California Health Spa.
I own the Alabama Twilly and love to tie it in my hair and purse. It is so pretty!!
New to the scene, and definitely to me, The Clearly Collective has some really pretty architectural-style collegiate scarves. They have a few ready to purchase and a number that will be released later this fall. I love how these scarves take the stadiums and turn them into art pieces. The Crimson scarf would be amazing worn now and then framed for after graduation. Don't you agree? These scarves are large enough to be worn as tops or two tied together can be worn as a dress. I really think this one is stellar.
Lastly, CB Grey has some darling options. My favorite is the headband, worn alone or with a scarf tied to your bag. CB Grey is local to Atlanta and has popped up at local festivals and art sales. They are really, really pretty!
Check them out, they also make excellent gifts for our college girlies!
Happy Tuesday ...
