Needlepoint Magnets, Oh My

I have been a needlepointer for five years and love every day I get to stitch.  After five years, I tried to get creative in my finishing so I would have more than just ornaments and framed pieces.  For a while, I have thought it would be darling to finish pieces as magnets for the refrigerator, and today, I saw a visual of someone finishing theirs in this exact way.

Aren't these darling?  I spotted them on Pinterest this morning; I apologize for the language in the one photo. Now, I am hyper-focused on creating magnets with a few of my finished pieces and choosing others for this exact purpose.

I have a few of my collaborations with Anne Fisher ready to be finished, and they will absolutely be finished as magnets. In addition, I love the idea of a few of our favorite food items. I have linked a few below; they are all so cute and would make amazing magnets. I even love the idea of a frame finished as a magnet for a family photo or your current Christmas card photo.

Oh, the possibilities!

I have linked a number of really great options below, but honestly, the choices are endless. You could stick with a food theme, a blue-and-white theme, a dog theme, or even chinoiserie. The fridge magnets are your oyster! Haha.

Have a great week. If you are in the path of Hurricane Milton, I can not stop thinking about you. I pray you are safe and safe!

  1. Love the idea! Do you know of a DIY tutorial to finish a needlepoint magnet?

    1. I don't know of one for this idea, but I would finish it as a normal cookie and then add a very strong magnet on the back. My idea is to use felt instead of fabric to not waste the back side, but still to add cording. I hope that helps!
