ONE ROOM CHALLENGE || FALL 2016 WEEK FIVE

Deep breath, deep breath, deep breath ... ok let's get this started!!

Welcome to Week 5 of the One Room Challenge.  I will be very honest, I stumbled over saying the number 5 because all week it truly felt like week 4, but week 5 it is so no sense in completely freaking out and running away.  It is time for a top knot, pink lipstick, good music and some serious focus!!

So to catch you up super duper quick like ... I am in the middle tail end of transforming our boring master bedroom to a fabulous Palm Beach inspired retreat.  Lots of color, everything we love and some perfect little elements to make it a perfect place for us to regroup and refresh at the end of each busy day.  You can catch up with the previous weeks here

The walls are an amazing high gloss chocolate brown and all of the color in the room comes from the amazing Mad Cap Cottage fabrics mixed with blue and white porcelain and some of our favorite Rose Medallion pieces.

Add in some incredible Couture Lamps, more fabrics and my collection of Staffordshire pups and antique silhouettes and you have the design plan for the space.  It is coming along right on schedule except for the part where I was thinking I had an extra week to paint a dresser, make some custom shades and pick up a mirror from Charleston.  Enter panic attack here.  Deep breaths!

Here is where I am with the space ...

1. The walls won't change color, but they will change from dull flat to fabulous high gloss.  DONE
2. We are getting a new bed. The mattress will remain but the headboards and height of the bed will be long gone. DONE
3. All new bed linens and no more sad comforter that the sick puppy has snuggled on for many months. Think fabulous with a big juicy monogram. #eek IN PROCESS
4. Chairs will be recovered and moved. DONE AND REPLACED WITH NEW CHAIRS
5. Blanket chest = coffee table is out of here.
6. Left over rug from office = gone
7. Mismatched bedside tables = no more .. DONE BUT THEY ARE STILL MISMATCHED
8. One too many chairs = no more
9. Out of date ceiling fan replaced with chandelier if I can convince the Hubs to let me take it down. If not, it will be replaced with a new and fabulous fan. IN PROCESS
10. Color, color, color on its way in. IN PROCESS
11. Fabulous curtains and curtain rods. IN PROCESS
12. Create a cozy yet beautiful master refuge! ... ALMOST!!!

I have some sneak peeks of the space for you ...

I shopped my house and found the perfect chairs for our bedroom.  The colors are spot on and they are the most comfortable chairs in the house so this is a #winwin!!

Dressing table in place and I am currently playing with styling for the new piece in the room.  I am super excited about this little nook. The Dana Gibson for Soicher Marin piece is perfect here!!

Television wall is styled and perfect.  I love the mix of the two patterns and the sconces on this wall are getting some super fun lampshades for an even bigger pop of color.  #fun!!

The bamboo lamps are in place with their custom finials ... and I couldn't love them more!

A collection of the pups in the house are on the move to our room ... and some of them are getting dressed for the reveal!

My favorite antique oil paintings are ready to hang ...

And the little nook in the corner is being dressed for the reveal!

What is left to do ...

1.  Paint the dresser under the TV white
2.  Install the linens and drapery
3.  Custom lampshades
4.  Decide on an ottoman
5.  Style and shoot the room

Otherwise known as I have to split and get immediately back to work!!

Make sure you have checked out all the sneak peeks provided by the talented Wednesday group. These room are TO DIE FOR!!!

Follow along with the remaining linking participants ... see you next Thursday for the reveal of our incredible space.  I may not sleep until then but it will be worth every second!!
