Thursday happenings ... Photo Shoot!

I am in Charlotte today helping out on a photo shoot with Parker Kennedy Living.  As I have mentioned before ... it is my most favorite thing they ask of me.  Playing with props and flowers all day ... yes, thank you very much!  I thoroughly enjoy playing the part of stylist!

Please don't misunderstand me.  I am not a stylist.  I am a mom with a fashion back ground.  Although five years in the retail business setting more floor plans than I can recall does get you pretty prepared for helping out in your best friend's business.  It really isn't all that different.  I worked side by side with a visual team then and a designer now.  He tells me what he sees ... I do my best to make it happen.  We have the same taste, although I am more traditional than he.  We "work" well together.  Hopefully I provide support and a sense of calm when the shoots get long and hectic.  His photographer is amazing.  Funny, easy going and talented beyond words!

This is my second shoot for this house.  The first shoot was in the fall of last year when I fell madly in love with the house and the family.  They love color and are avid art collectors.  The blue lacquer bar I have posted about more than once is in their kitchen.  I still dream of this amazing space and am convinced I need to lacquer my own bar area!

And all that color in an all white kitchen?  Yes, Please!!

This time we will be shooting the master bathroom, the girls bedrooms and bathrooms and the veranda area.  I am excited to see the changes that have occurred since the fall.

This amazing foyer has a new purple glass chandelier!  I don't care for purple ... however, I can't imagine a better choice for this gorgeous space!

The laundry room has been lacquered and is ready for shooting ... I can't wait to see the result.  This turquoise dining room is ah-mazing in person!!!  That chandy is HUGE!

And the veranda.  Newly styled with faux bamboo seating pieces and pink and white striped umbrellas.  I passed out when he sent me the pics from the install last week.  I can not wait to see it in person!!

Working hard today and tomorrow ... but in a house this amazing, can you call that work?

Happy Weekend!!

MPM

  3. Beautiful! Would love to have another shot of the room where the ceiling light fixture is. I want some bookcase like those in my living room. See what you can do.
