Inspiration du jour ... #weekends

I know I am not the only one who loves the weekend.

I mean, isn't it just the best part of the week?

Our weekend wasn't anything over the top, but it was incredible just the same.  Lot's of quality time and getting things done, and there is nothing better than those two things!

We started out the weekend with a dinner party with friends.  Very last minute and still so much fun.  We ate, drank and chatted until very late on the porch.  The weather in Atlanta in the evenings is absolute perfect porch weather.

I mixed my favorite cocktail of the moment and loved each and every sip!

4 oz. Grapefruit Juice - ruby red for moi please!
Splash of St. Germain
Sprig of mint
1/2 Slice of grapefruit for garnish

Chin chin!!

Saturday morning I slept late.  And I do mean late.  And I never sleep late, 8~ish is the latest you will find me snoozing.  But, it had been a stressful few days and my body was clearly exhausted!  I woke up at 10;15 thinking I had missed the day.  A cup of coffee and I realized I should be thankful for the extra rest and just move on.

Which, of course, I did.

Saturday afternoon became errands ... and not the sort I usually run.  I had a few things on my list that took me into the city, so I made an afternoon of it.

My first stop was my friend Mandy's pop up shop.  If you aren't familiar with Waiting on Martha you might be living under a rock, but that is ok.  Now you know!

Absolutely darling shop ... but I expected nothing less.  She is darling and her blog is basically a go to for all things, so why shouldn't her shop be top notch?

I was greeted by Brit and was treated to a magical half hour or so of shopping.  There were so many things I wanted to take home.  The pillows made me want to completely redo my den ... starting with a white sofa trimmed in black.  Isn't it divine??  And those pillows are even better in person!  Of course, I am drawn to gingham and florals since I live in one or both most days!

And this chair?  Ummm ... wrap it up with the sofa and pillows from above and we can call it a day!

Am I right??

I did walk out with a darling bag of goodies I will share later, but these are some of the things I left behind and will be dreaming of for a while ...

Maybe I will treat myself to one a week ... her stuff is just the best.  Of course, the Hubs would probably prefer the names Mandy and Martha weren't in my vocabulary, but he feels that way with anything that costs him money!

A pop over to the mall for an exchange and to grab my darling Louie from the repair shop and I was feeling the need for a treat.   Thank goodness there is a Sprinkles in Lenox Square.  Just the thing for an afternoon pick me up.

One cookie sundae made of Vanilla ice cream and a Salted Oatmeal Cornflake cookie and I was in heaven.  Warm cookie meets the best ice cream I have ever tasted and we have a match made for sure.

Oh, and this pic reminded me I am overdue for a gel mani.

The evening was perfectly uneventful consisting of sweat pants and take out Italian food snuggled up with my beloved.  Something about laying on a pillow on his shoulder that just makes everything right with the world.

Sunday gifted us with an incredible sermon, a trip to the cupcake ATM for our birthday girl and lots more snuggling.

Little Bit said ... "you can get a cupcake out of an ATM? ... Does this work at all of them?"

Oh sweet girl, if only!

Hope your weekend was amazing!  Here's to a productive week for all ...

  1. Where exactly is that ATM? We have a new bakery in town and I went in and asked for an oatmeal raisin cookie. Server looked at me like I had 2 heads and said that would need to be special order. My kids told me only old people eat oatmeal raisin cookies!

    1. I suppose I've been old since I was ten, Mary Beth. I, too, choose oatmeal raisin when given a choice.
