12 Happies du Jour

Happy Tuesday!  I have a fun filled holiday inspired post of happies for you today.  Everything from what to do, eat, sip and wear for July 4th which will be here by the time I blink. I know I was gone for a week and then sick for almost a week, but wow, June is FLYING by. I love that July 4th this year comes in the middle of the week.  I love a long weekend, but who doesn't love a week interrupted for a holiday.  Thank you, thank you very much July calendar!

Refill your coffee, sit back and let's discuss summer's best holiday.  Ps, how cute is Teggy French?  That dress, the fabulous truck, does it get any better??

First of all ... anyone else obsessed with all think red, white + blue the first week of July.  I pretty much wear nothing but the entire first week and then transition back into my regularly scheduled program for week two and beyond.  Well ... that is until Labor Day when the routine begins.  I have found the cutest pieces for you to shop ... some I own and some I need but mostly things I think are perfect for the upcoming day of Independence.

Are you tired of doing the same thing you do every single year?  I know we have the same routine and I do love an adventure.  I loved some of these fun ideas I found that would allow you to change up your traditions a little or change them up all together!

My cute friend Alex is sharing a fabulous look for July 4th.  Funny enough it is the exact same dress I was wearing yesterday that so many of you asked about in my stories.  The caftan is the most comfortable and the rick rack is too amazing for words.  You must read this blog post and snag yourself the dress from August Morgan.

Jack Rogers are the unofficial shoe of summer in my book.  I do wear mine almost all year long but in the summer they sit in a basket just inside my closet so they are ready for wearing every single day.  Between these and my favorite Rainbow flip flops I am not sure I wear much else.  I am absolutely in love with all the darling shoes to show off your patriotic side.  Between stripes, popsicles and the darling jelly shoes how does one choose?

This article has some great tips for entertaining.  I love the idea of using just two colors instead of all three.  The red and white above is so good, isn't it.  All red and white would be so fabulous with a few vases of blue hydrangeas.  Hmmm ...

Our celebratory meal for the holiday is either grilled chicken and smoked ribs or burgers of some sort.  Since I don't eat red meat and chicken and I are currently on a break I am letting Lawyer decide what we will eat.  We had burgers for Memorial Day and I was happy as a clam with my spicy black bean burger so I may decide to eat that meal again. If burgers are on your list here is an excellent round up of many different kinds of burgers!

Do you have a bucket list of places you would like to spend the 4th?  I know I do.  We have a fabulous downtown parade and a darling parade in our neighborhood followed by our choice of firework locations but I still would like to experience the holiday in a number of places, most definitely New England.  How about Washington DC, Mount Vernon, Boston, Martha's Vineyard ... I could go on and on.  So many fun places to visit.

This drink sounds so yummy!  We usually celebrate with Cokes and sweet tea during the day and a drink after returning home from fireworks.  This one sounds perfect for me!

How darling is this blanket?  My sweet friend Emily always knocks it out of the park and this design is perfect for summer and especially July 4th!  Also this beach towel ... too cute for words.

She also has you covered for all your plates, cups and stirrer needs ... and they are truly too fabulous for words.  But, they always are!

One of my favorite ways to decorate our table is with red or blue gingham, but this year I am changing things up quite a bit.  I have pulled some super cute ideas for your tables, all which I truly love the idea of using. So much goodness, especially the cork place mats!

Anyone need a some fun earrings for the fireworks?  I have a few that would be sooo cute for you to wear!  I have this pair in blue and I love them, and the red is stunning! Check out the roundup below!

Anyone else love bunting? I have always wanted a big front porch to be able to make to hang bunting like this.  I love our house, we don't have a space to hang bunting so I always google it and hunt for it on Pinterest just to enjoy it on other people's homes.  I have a whole board if you would like more inspiration you can peruse here

Hope your Tuesday is fabulous ... I know I have some fun plans to knock out so follow along on stories today!
