Welcome, September!!

Yep, September is really here.  I think for the first few days, before Labor Day, I was like ... it is coming and now that the long weekend is gone and I have flipped my calendar, it is really here.  August was so long and so full I felt like it was going to last forever.  But ... the weather already feels a little different, so it is time to embrace it and invite the upcoming fall in for coffee and a scone. 😉

I love our porch.  I think I have mentioned this at nauseam, but it so very true.  This time of year, along with spring is my favorite time to just sit and enjoy the birds and the breeze and the outdoors in the mornings and evenings. I hung a flag in July behind one of our loveseats and I love it so very much. Honestly, I may leave it up for ever.  A few of you asked for a resource and I don't have a source for this one, that is wool and an antique, but I do have a few others via followers on Instagram. The first recommendation I got was for Valley Forge Flag and their flags are well made in America.  That seems like a major score, I am not sure mine outside our door is and it needs to be replaced. The second recommendation is to contact your Representative or Senator in Congress.  House.gov will take you to find your representative and each state will have a page to order flags.  You can request your flag be flown at the capitol for a specific day, maybe a special day for you, before it is sent to you.  Thank you to Laurel Edmond for this lovely source.  If you live in Georgia, this is the form you would need

Since the summer is over, officially on September 21, I will trade this fun flag pillows for some plaid ones and add plaid blankets for warmth.  I will enjoy the crisp to the air in the morning.  When it comes to great plaid pillows I chose ones I can take the covers off and wash or have dry cleaned, the best source I have found being Home Goods.  The plaid pillows are a plenty this time of year.

I have some fun things coming this week ... possibly a trip, and definitely two sales, and some home projects.  My bedroom pillows are back from the upholsterer so that bedroom reveal is just days away.  Stay tuned for that!!

A super fun treat for me (and you) this morning!!  I am featured on my friend Mary's blog and she had amazing questions about estate sales and antiquing and the like.  I love Mary, she is a great one to work with as she is a true power house when it comes to work. I hope you love! I am super thankful she asked, she is always so fun to work with on all things.

A few more images you can save for later if you are looking for some summer + patriotic porch inspiration! Also, all the sources for the porch below.

  1. I love that your posts are always positive! Your style and mine are pretty far apart but you always make me smile and I think you would be a friend of mine and share a cocktail!
