The perfect little white dress, it is essential for spring and summer in the south. I think the combination of the breezy feeling of white and the endless ways you can wear it makes it an essential. It began long ago with Easter. We wore our white dresses + new white shoes for Easter Sunday ready to ditch the cool weather of winter and embrace the warmth. And in the south, that still happens except grown up me has traded the white dress + white shoe combination for a great dress and some new fun espadrilles. Yet the little white dress is a staple in every woman's closet and is worn religiously all summer long just as the little black dress is ready for any and all fancy occasions and dining adventures.
When Victoria Dunn released her white collection I was thrilled. Having been a fan of so many pieces she creates the white collection was an excellent way for me to snag a perfect LWD. When I checked the selection I found two that I loved, this one and the Swiss Dot Bennet Maxi. Eventually after staring at them both for weeks I decided the maxi would be easier to wear over and over again and style it to my liking. The dress has tie sleeves, perfect for hot summer evenings, and is made of the prettiest white swiss dot fabric. It is lightweight and so easy to wear. Pro tip, I would size down, as it is rather voluptuous, in the best way possible.
When I chose the dress I found out my darling friend Anna Louise chose the exact same dress. So ... we decided it was perfect to style it for you in four different ways, two by me and the other two by Anna Louise. I think it is so fun to partner with a friend to show an item of clothing and see how they would wear it and style it, which is always different from how I see myself wearing it. Basically it gives me extra ways to think about a piece of clothing. In short, bonus win! You can read her blog post where she talks about how she would wear the dress. Anna Louise has darling style and tends to be a bit dressier than me, which is perfect for this partnership.
First up, more casually. This would an everyday outfit for me. Maybe I am meeting the girls for lunch, shopping, a day of errands, or even better hitting some estate sales and then eating alfreso! Spring in Georgia can be so tricky, so going bare shoulders is not an option and the perfect way to show you how much I use and wear a denim jacket. I styled it with my sneaks, these fun pink earrings, and some fun wrist jewels. Those jewels would be a Goldbug cuff + a combination of this bracelet and this one. You know I adore my Hazen!! And, for the bright sunny days ... you definitely need a great pair of sunnies.
Don't forget to read Anna Louise's blog post ... she really is just the prettiest and so very girly. I swear she was meant to be a Disney princess. She has the heart of gold and is truly one of a kind. I am lucky to call her a friend!
Happy Thursday ...
