I am thrilled to share a new to me brand to you today that has swept through my closet and made it shine. My love for Caryn Lawn started with a single dress, the Preppy Dress, and has now expanded to many more pieces. What I love about finding fabulous pieces is how versatile they can be. Caryn's dresses and tops are not only versatile, but so comfortable and equally flattering making it a must have in my book. When she reached out to introduce herself to me I instantly stopped when I saw the word preppy to check out her website.
Instantly, I was hooked.
The Preppy Dress is a one size fits most shirt dress with adorable patches on the elbows. The one I received was a stunning khaki color with pink hearts sewn on the sleeves. I loved it from the second I shook it out after opening the package. The material is perfectly thick, the color pops beautifully, and the details are divine. I knew it would be a piece I would wear again and again. I now own two, thanks to Caryn, and my second one is a great kelly green with lavender hearts. The Preppy Dress is darling with both sneakers for running around, loafers for any occasion at all and would also be so pretty with my bow wedges for dinner. It is cut so well and truly a perfect preppy shirt dress. I now see it comes in a longer version which I will be ordering the second I finish this blog post.
After falling for the Preppy Dress I was introduced to more of her collection, specifically the Betsy Top, the Beverly Caftan, and the Kimberly Dress. Once again all of her pieces were so easy to wear, could be worn casually and dressed up and just felt so good when I wore them. I love to find a piece that I can put on in the morning and then wear all the way to dinner, just in case I get the invite. 😉 It is so easy to change your shoes, accessories, and earrings when you love what you are wearing and Caryn's pieces definitely fit that bill.
I was able to wear these pieces to attend a day event ...
... shop an estate sale, and in the rain I might say ...
... hit up my favorite needlepoint shop ...
... and take my girl to tour some colleges. I felt pulled together for each event and found it so easy to style the pieces the way that I would wear my clothes. Can you tell I am smitten with Caryn Lawn's designs? You know what it's like, you find a great designer you love and you are loyal knowing that each of them will fit into your life so well.
So, how do I suggest you dive into Caryn's line? Well I would suggest you snag two pieces to begin, the Preppy Dress and a top, either the Betsy or, one of her new pieces, the Emily. Oh, and to accessorize you can shop her extensive jewelry collection. I have a few of her darling bracelets and find them very easy to mix into my regular arm stacks.
I think one of my favorite things I can tell you about Caryn's pieces is how well loved they are. The first time I wore my Preppy Dress I spotted a friend hosting a trunk show at her shop. Another one of my friends texted me and told me it was a favorite of hers as well. While prepping for our Round Top trip (two more sleeps) Lady & Tucker suggested their favorite Caryn Lawn dress. While I was unpacking my box that arrived my friend Nicole loved some of it and before we both knew it she was trying them on as well. It is that good, I promise you.
