Seersucker Memorial Day

T minus 7 sleeps until Memorial Day arrives, is anyone else a bit in shock?  With Memorial Day being the unofficial beginning of summer I am partially 100 percent ready and 100 percent not ready for another school year to end.  Next year my daughter is the dreaded s word and I am not ready for that adventure one single bit. But ... I digress.  Memorial Day, the pools open, the flags come out of storage, and we fire up the grill for burgers, hot dogs, and all the goodies

I really do love a great red, white, and blue combination.  It is so classic, timeless, and works for the summer, all the holidays, and even can be split up later for mix and match.  I started the plan for this table with a beautiful blue and white tablecloth.  My husband and I drove to Blairsville two weeks ago for a stop into From Me 2 U and I grabbed a number of items to use for the summer.  The tablecloth is a perfect block print with an edge that reminds me of seersucker. I love block print patterns as they always give me a sense of relaxation.  This one, called the Amer, is really so pretty.  From the tablecloth, I chose the darling Flags + Hydrangea pattern from Caspari (also snagged at From Me 2 U).  This pattern is absolutely ideal for Memorial Day as I always decorate with a vase of hydrangeas + flags.  With the tablecloth and all of the linens managed I moved on to the plates, glasses, and flatware.

When it came to plates I was so excited to set the table using my new Mrs. Southern Social for Dillard's collection.  I pulled my Hollis plates and both these blue salad plates and these white ones.  I love the mix of the two, it keeps it whimsical and shows off both of my new salad plate patterns.  I seem to always pull my tortoise flatware and that is because it goes with every single table.

When it came to glassware I upped the whimsy and pulled my favorite pup cups from Affordably Chic.  I believe she may be sold out, but hopefully, she can order more.  I also used my favorite monogram swizzle sticks.  These make the best gifts and are so good to use time and time again.  At this point my swizzle sticks are at least four years old and they still appear brand new. I poured Sweet Tea Sangria and that recipe is coming in the menu portion of this week's post.  It is so delish

Those darling red glasses?  They can be purchased here, but go quickly ... there is only a set of four left. I realized I have very little red and Nicole's red hobnail glasses were perfect.  I think red glassware is a must-have as it works for all of summer, Christmas, Valentine's Day ... and just a random Tuesday. 😉

Let's chat about the centerpiece.  It was so simple to create and, may be my summer floral go to.  I used this darling rattan vase + these faux hydrangea stems (dusty blue + white), and flags from my local Ace Hardware.  I have used these faux stems for a while now and I am really impressed with them.  The first thing to wilt in my arrangements is always the hydrangeas and with it not being season quite yet these are a perfect substitute.

And for what to wear?  We both wore Holly Shae seersucker dresses and paired them with red accessories.  My Hoo hoops are from Emily McCarthy as is Nicole's darling red and white headband, which is sadly sold out.  I have already claimed borrow rights on that one. My dress is this one and Nicole's is this tunic dress.  Hers comes in chambray as well which I have and adore. Use code PAIGE20 for 20% off your order at Holly Shae.

Happy Monday ... more Memorial Day + summer inspiration coming this week. 💙💗
