How can it be mid-September? Is anyone else shocked that we are in the year's fourth quarter?? It has flown by, and honestly, I need time to slow down a bit, I want to savor it more. We are a bit more than a week before the official start of fall and I have not finished my summer bucket list. I need to get on it, maybe at record speed. We shall see how well I do.
Today I have a collection of things to share with me, a lot of them reading Fall, which, like I just said, is speeding toward us.
This sweater is a must. I snagged it so quickly when I spotted the beagle and I love that it's a dark green, which is a break away from my normal navy or cream Ralph Lauren sweater. It is just too good to pass up.
If you missed it, Anna Louise and I created a fun fall table, which is currently in the Autumn Entertain & Celebrate. We styled and shot it in Pawleys Island last year. I love the beach for all seasons and I really do believe that a fall dinner, even Thanksgiving, is perfect at the beach. We planned a seafood meal, but any meal would be excellent. You can order the magazine here.
Last week I visited the public library in Columbus, Mississippi, which was a childhood favorite of mine. While I was there, I purchased a book to take home as a memory. I don't know if every library has books for sale, but I recommend purchasing one if they do. Mine was 25 cents, but I walked away with a memento of a place I spent every afternoon during the week for two years. I will pretend I did not have tears just walking up to it; I can remember everything, especially why I love books so much.
J.Crew is killing the fall vibes with their new arrivals. I have flipped through my catalog more than once to just try to soak it in. I see a lot of blazers, some long denim skirts (that's a no for me), vests, and Mary Janes. I found an adorable option for the Mary Jane feel without looking like I was wearing my daughter's shoe. The gold really makes it unique in my opinion. I am sure they will go fast, so grab them while you can.
I also love this green vest. It would be fabulous with all of my blue oxfords, and the striped ones.
In two weeks, we head to Tuscaloosa for the Freshman family weekend. I have already thought about some of my outfits, but I am still working on it. One thing I know, crimson doesn't look the best on me, so I am accessorizing with it instead of showcasing it. I have purchased a red-ish Nap Dress from a seller on eBay that I hope will work and I also have my eye on a solid black one. I can wear these with white denim jackets when it gets cooler. Also, I have a number of cute black dresses and tops I can style with grey and white. I will be taking my white jeans (it's the South, y'all), and I also have a fun black and white dress I found last week. Stay tuned, I will style all these outfits for you!
Another item I am shopping for is footwear. I know there will be a number of times I need to be wearing game-day shoes, so I am looking at both cowboy boots and fun tennis shoes to have on hand. I also don't love houndstooth, but I do adore all things gingham, so I found some great options.
Have the best Monday ...
