ORC ... last minute work!

Usually Tuesday's are all about thrifting ... but we are in week 6 of the One Room Challenge so notsomuch today!

(amazing design by Mary McDonald)

It's down to the last two days ... the last punch list and the end is soooo very near.  My porch transformation is so close to being finished I can last the fruits in my Sangria.  I am so excited to finish this project and be able to enjoy it every single day.

As I was placing furniture the other night I decided the white wicker bar cart would look better outside of the screen area by the table.  It provides great contrast to the dark table and blue chairs and that corner of the screen area needs something other than white.  Something to hold all my blue and white potted herbs and a few other items.  Something that would be amazing on its own.  But ... what??

Enter the Ikea Vittsjo!  This very useful (& super cheap) metal shelving unit has been hacked all over the internet in so many different colors.  I love that it is tall, doesn't eat up a bunch of floor space and the shelves themselves are a good size.  I have been eyeing the larger version for the middle schooler's room for a while and then realized they had a smaller version.

How freaking over the top is this??  I absolutely love how they used a large and two smalls and the yellow is fantastic!!

When I started searching hacks for this post I knew I wanted to paint it gold.  It would break up the blue and white, the blue floor and all the white wicker.  Gold was the perfect choice!

But then I saw this ...

GREEK KEY CORNERS??  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  YES, OH YES!  I WANT THESE LIKE STAT!!!

Have you ever?  I just fell madly in love with these corners.  I must add them to the gold shelf.  Must email stat.  Must ask for overnight shipping!!!  It's the perfect DIY I had no idea I was missing!!

I can't wait to show you all the progress.  Step back and look at the before and afters.  Really enjoy all this hard work.

Oh, and plan a soiree!!!

Don't forget to enter the Emily McCarthy inspired giveaway!

One more day!!!

MPM
