Spring refresh!!

(via Pinterest)

Spring and "springtime" refer to the season, and also to ideas of rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection and regrowth.
I love Spring.  The trees are all in bloom, the birds are chirping and making their homes, the grass is bright green and everything around looks like its been shot in the arm with new life.  Our deck area needed a serious shot in the arm after a long winter and some serious pollen days.  Everything was covered with a yellow haze and begging for a new leash on life!

Having some people over for lunch was the perfect time to make that happen!

Before pictures ... after the porch and the furniture had been scrubbed clean of dirt and residual pollen!  #notafanofyellowdust

The upper deck

The dining area ... before the last scrubbing

The powder room window ... isn't this space just begging for a window box?

And the after ... (even the word makes me happy!)

Some great navy and white made this upper deck area pop!  I love the garden stool here and the pink flowers on the coffee table make me very happy!

I used my white wicker bar cart from the screened porch area for the day!  I love a bar cart ... so easy to style and make it special for each occasion.  The vintage lemon sodas sparked the blue and yellow theme here.

Adding these fantastic white host chairs made the whole table happy ...

... oh, and painting those sad black chairs navy also made a huge difference in refreshing the table area!  I moved the green rug from the screen area to ground the table and I love the results!!

This blue and white combo makes my heart sing!

Some fresh mint and Emily McCarthy swizzle sticks

I love how this Vera tablecloth and napkin play off our blue and white dishes!  And a monogram always works.  My husband says ... "Don't stand still, she will monogram you too!"  I am ok with that!

This beverage bucket was patiently waiting for ice and the vintage lemon sodas.  This acrylic beverage bucket is fabulous for so many things ... bottles of wine, champs, sodas and water!

I absolutely adore this boxwood topiary.  Can I use them all over the porch, or is that too much?

And ... BAM!!! This window looks so much happier with its new window box!

I truly enjoy entertaining ... a full house with friends and laughter is the best medicine!  When we got married my husband insisted our first house had a screen door on the garage entrance so family and friends could enter without ringing the bell.  I still remember the sound the door would make when our loved ones entered. It's a great sound and its warms my heart!

One Kings Lane has some great options for outdoor living.  I used what we had and could find locally since I was in a pinch ... but I am in awe of the amazing finds to be had on their site!  I am thoroughly enjoying their Home Decor Resource Guide.  This article inspired my use of stripes and mixing patterns I wouldn't tire of in a year or so.  For me ... navy and white is the ultimate in timeless!!

Happy Friday ... hope your weekend is full of sun and loved ones!!

MPM
