Inspiration du jour ... #July4th

I absolutely love July 4th!  Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer for me and by July 4th we have officially been enjoying weeks of down time, swim team, late summer evenings and plenty of grilled yummy food!

This July 4th was super low key for us ... but amazing and incredibly special as always!  Our weather in Atlanta was nice and cool (thanks to Hurricane Andrew) and we soaked up each and every second of the amazing weather outside!  I decorated the porch and kitchen area for the holiday ... using pillows I have normally in the basement (all red, white and blue) and an adorable pennant I purchased at Pottery Barn last week on clearance!   Some hydrangeas and a ton of flags and we were ready to celebrate!

Oh, and some fun napkins, sparklers and pop its!  Now we are ready!!!

We started with our annual tradition watching the parade on the Marietta square.  We sit in the same place every year across from the cemetery.  It's one of the most gorgeous places in the area.  It also is such an amazing reminder of why we celebrate this amazing day and why we are free to do so.  Freedom isn't free and many have sacrificed their lives and continue to do so daily for our freedom.

The parade is my favorite way to start the day ...

Southern belles ... their first year that I recall and my favorite!  Took me right back to my youth and the ladies at Cypress Gardens.

How adorable does Little Bit look?  Those pig tails are killing me softly!

Our picture to my sweet friend Maggi who is the mastermind behind the amazing parade.  She rocks it every single year!

Let me zoom in on those two in the back.  Those pig tails, that hat ... I know they are mine but dang those kids are too cute for words!!!  xo

The rest of the day was amazing as well ...

Quick bite of lunch with Lance and a tour of Buckhead in his vintage Mercedes convertible ...

One of our favorite houses.  That gate, that flag ... I die!

Seriously???  How darling are they???  Just love these boys ... they are so good to us and we love having them as framily!

The evening was spent eating way too much ... and giggling for hours!  We watched the fireworks at the club nearby and hit the sack absolutely exhausted from the amazing day!

My Lilly sparklers shorts.  You wear them all day in the sun and the sparklers glow at night!  Yep, I wear them every year and they never let me down!  Love, love, love me some Lilly!

Another amazing 4th of July in the books!  Quiet, full of framily and many memories!

Hope yours was amazing!

xo,
MPM

ps ... I apologize for my huge space between posts last week ... I was under the weather but I am back, hopefully for good!  xxoo Paige
