Welcome to my favorite time of the year! It's BACK ... and I am so excited to get started!
Seriously for me it's like Christmas for 6 weeks twice a year!! I look forward to each and every Wednesday and Thursday and love following along for with so many amazing people doing some amazing work in their homes!!! It has been such a blessing to me and I have met some amazing people who are rock stars when it comes to design.
If you aren't familiar with the One Room Challenge ... it is 6 week challenge where 20 bloggers are invited to transform a space from start to finish. The amazing idea is the brain child of Linda from Calling it Home. The ORC participants post each Wednesday and the linking partners post on Thursdays. I am a linking partner and am completing my fourth room. For me ... it has been a wonderful journey that has transformed our Guest Suite in round 1, our Porch in round 2 and our Master Bath in round 3. I love each and every room and can't wait to tackle another space!
I am transforming our laundry room where a whole lot of activity happens and little or no organization exists. With seven people and two pups in our house this is long overdue. I am once again not changing walls and sadly not upgrading our washer and dryer (they are pretty new) so it will be all paint, wallpaper, molding and serious organization! But I have proved to you I can make a lot happen without changing walls! xo
My vision:
Brass sputnik, brass hardware and the most darling light pink ceiling ...
Rifle Paper Co Poppy wallpaper in Persimmon, touches of green and of course, blue and white ...
green lacquered cabinets and fabulous brass knobs ...
Brass sputnik, brass hardware and the most darling light pink ceiling ...
and a completely organized mud room area!
My plan:
1. Crown molding on ceiling
2. Brass sputnik
3. Lacquer/High Gloss cabinets
4. Skirt for the dreaded utility sink (thinking this baby may need to leave!)
5. Fabulous window treatment
6. Remove door for extra space
7. Mud room area
8. Wallpaper two walls
9. Rug
10. Bench for seating and shoe storage
11. Paint ceiling
12. Manage dog food
13. Manage cleaning supplies
I am telling you ... this space is begging for a major transformation.
I am hoping I will walk into my laundry room and it will feel like an amazing room I want to stay in instead of one I just want to leave behind closed doors.

And I can not wait to get started! Next week I will post before pictures and tackle the massive clean out before the transformation begins. Why oh why is the laundry room the ugly step sister of a house?
Until then make sure you read up on the ORC Participants and my fellow linking partners!
Chin, chin to an amazing 6 weeks!
I love the persimmon, Paige!!! This is going to be sooooo GORGEOUS, and I cannot wait to see more!!

ReplyDeleteLove where you're headed with this, Paige!
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to see what you do with the space, as all your other transformations have been Ahhhmazing! I guess I will be thankful for a small laundry space afterall...can't cram too much in there ;-) And, "7" in your household with 2 dogs??!!! You do a great job of hiding them.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh! Absolutely loving all of your inspiration photos! Cannot wait to see how this all comes together!

ReplyDeleteWorking on my laundry room for the past couple of months. I need a new washer and dryer desperately!! Can't wait to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteYes!!! I love following along with you every time. Great picks per usual. That paper will be perfection.
ReplyDeletePaige, I love your plan and of course your style. You are so fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that wallpaper, the brass, the pink ceiling...everything! This is going to look as fab as your bathroom did! (or even better!)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your wallpaper choice! Looking forward to every update. Just my opinion on laundry tubs: they may not be the prettiest things, but they sure are handy when you need water in the laundry room. You may have a nearby source--bathroom or powder room near the laundry, and don't need to keep the laundry tub. We don't have a bathroom on the same floor as the laundry--poor planning, I know! We had a sink in our laundry room, but is was removed (because I thought it was ugly), and I sure miss it. I have to go upstairs if I need water for the steamer or steam iron.
ReplyDeleteI love the gorgeous wallpaper you chose and the direction you are going, I can't wait to follow along!
