When August Morgan launched their clothing line in the spring I was filled with all the heart eyes for their classic and incredibly wearable designs. Each and every piece was more amazing than the last and I wore my pink and yellow caftan over and over for the entire spring and summer months. It was amazing and made so well with so many details and I just loved how comfortable and yet still pull together I felt. I was hooked.
So imagine my excitement when the fall and winter line rolled out. I had a sneak peek at Amercias Mart in July and I knew the pieces were just as amazing as the first collection. Kate Hersch's philosophy of creating wearable, effortless and timeless clothes has once again put her at the top of her game. Her description of the woman she is designing for snares me every single time. She "is a woman, regardless of her age, who enjoys entertaining and takes the time to use linens. She also has a witty irreverence and enjoys a good time".
The woman we all crave to spend our time with, right?
My favorite piece in the collection would be the Gimlet shirt dress. With all the details and feels of a fabulous button down it just keeps going to become the most chic and comfortable shirt dress you own. Add in pockets and an amazing placket and I had no choice but to instantly fall in love the minute I spotted it. Worn with leggings and flats or boots and a fun jacket, this piece is timeless and a perfect addition to your wardrobe.
Add in a leopard coat or layer with a scarf or vest ... it just gets better and better. Oh, and don't forget some fabulous earrings!
It would be the perfect dress for travel as well, comfortable and so pulled together and once again so easy to layer. I truly am a sucked for anything that I can pop the collar on and layer pearls and other pieces. So far I have worn it as you see her as well as with converse to run errands on a Saturday and each way I wore it seemed like the perfect choice.
With its long tail and incredible cuffs I truly can't get enough of this piece ... and my favorite part may be the pearl button on the base of the fabulous oversized cuff. I am telling you anything Kate designs has me all sorts of giddy. Well, that and a cute husband that will participate in photos. 😍
The only thing this dress is missing is a darling and cheeky cocktail napkin to pair it with, which I was happy to oblige. From the work week to Saturday and every single thing in between I highly recommend any of Kate's pieces. They are truly as classic divine as she is!
Chin, chin to the weekend! Happy Friday ...
