Palm Beach ... All The Outfits

Packing for Florida in the summer can be tricky for some and it didn't surprise me one bit when some of you reached out to ask what I wore and how I stayed cool at all in the dead of the summer in south Florida.  Living in Florida I am prepared to be hot and sweaty while I am there most of the time.  Unless I am traveling in the fall or winter it is always pretty warm so I try to be alright with it.  For this trip I knew we would be outside a lot and it would be very hot so I tried to pack accordingly, but it was still really, really hot.  I just made peace with it, wore what I wanted to and between the day and dinner I would take a cool shower and just start again.

I have all the clothes I wore, everything I packed to wear and when I wore it for you today. I broke it down by day and activity.  We all wore a lot of Lilly and this is honestly the best choice.  Lilly for the most part is light, breezy and perfect for the heat.  You can not go wrong with any of their choices, I love anything and everything Lilly!

First up, what I wore on the plane.  I knew I wanted to wear jeans because it always super cold on the plane and I was arriving at 5 ish so it would be maybe a bit cooler.  I also knew I would go straight from checking in to shopping and dinner so jeans seemed like a good idea.  I paired my jeans with this darling blue smocked top, these earrings, these slides + this carry on bag.  It was a perfect plan and I was comfortable and ready for anything when I landed.

When I arrived at The Colony the best package was waiting for me, a custom pair of pink and white Palm Beach Sandals. I was so excited to have them and the fact that they were made and waiting for me was the best treat.  I immediately put them on and hardly took them off the rest of the week.  Caroline's flight was very delayed (the plane door wouldn't shut ... 🙄) so I treated myself to a walk to the beach and then a long lazy sit down by the pool.  It was heaven.

Wednesday morning started early with breakfast and shopping on Worth Avenue and I wore a green Zara dress I found when I popped into the mall. I can not find it online but its super cute and the best shade of green. I paired it with a pair of white slides which I love + cute earrings + a vintage handbag. I thought it was perfect for lunching and shopping and it was cool enough to help with the heat and humidity.

After lunch and more shopping we headed out on bikes to really take in the island.  It was hot, ok really hot, but the breeze helped so we stayed close to the ocean on Ocean Blvd. as much as we could.  I wore this Lilly dress which was amazing since the dress was light weight and the breeze on the bike kept me as cool as it could.  I also wore my PB sandals ... well, because I am obsessed with them and they are so comfy.

After a long hot bike ride, ice cream and some down time (and a cool shower) we got dressed and headed to The Breakers for dinner on Wednesday night. I was so excited to wear this beautiful maxi dress (with these sandals + this bag) and it was perfect.  The sunset was gorgeous and the evening, the food and the giggles were incredible.  We loved every single minute at The Breakers ... it turned out to be a perfect night to go.

Thursday morning we started our day poolside after coffee. We had a ton of content to shoot and I was so thankful we shot it early and I got to wear a bathing suit and cover up to beat the heat that I knew was coming very soon. I wore this suit + this cover up + my PB sandals, again!!  This was my first Lilly bathing suit but it will be not my last. They fit so well and are so user friendly ... perfect bum coverage which is always an issue.  I think these sunnies are so fun and were perfect for the morning. 😎

Mid morning we headed to the beach for a bit and I changed into this suit + this cover up (now sold out, but other options here!) and wore my sandals.  The sand can be so hot in south Florida in the summer and I think a good shoe is always a good idea.  It turned out not to be hot, but I was prepared any way.  We had the best time riding the Beach Buggy to the beach and home.  I kind of wanted to ride it all over the island if I am being honest.  It is so cute. I added some earrings for the beach trip which I don't think I have ever done, but when in Palm Beach why not?  These earrings seemed to be the perfect choice.

We had a super late brunch/lunch at one of my favorite island spots.   I was super hot after a morning outside so a cool August Morgan dress seemed to be the best choice.  I paired it with my favorite summer bag, these slides and these earrings.  Honestly I did not care what I wore after I sat down for an iced coffee + avocado toast.  It is sooo good.  Oh, and round tortoise sunnies are always a good idea in my opinion.  😉

For our beautiful ocean side shoot on Thursday evening I wore one of my favorite dresses I own.  Is this Elizabeth Wilson piece not perfect??  The collar, the ruffles and the stripes are just everything!!  I added my PB sandals + some vintage Lilly sunnies + these earrings.  It seemed like the best choice and I think it was more than perfection.  I just love the dress, it makes me feel so very girly!!

I think my best tip for Florida in the summer is light clothing, all the dresses you can add and lots of cool showers if you get over heated.  It is hot, but its also the most beautiful time to see my favorite state.  If you are planning a south Florida trip its off season which means its quiet and just so amazing.  Just don't forget it will be hot, so lots of beach walks, bike rides and shopping during the hottest part of the day, but otherwise it is incredible!

Happy Saturday ...
