Pass The S'mores!

Anyone else love s'mores?  I think they are fabulous treats for the cooler weather and perfect for a treat during a family Hallmark Christmas movie.  It seems we have a fire in the fireplace nightly when the Hubs gets home from work.  Can you even believe he is back at work??  Over the weekend I decided that we needed something sweet and in a few minutes we had a tray of ingredients ready to make the best little sweet treats.

We love s'mores in our house and I have taken some time this year to get creative with our ingredients.  I think the experiment started when our middle child was diagnosed with celiac a few years ago.  He could not have graham crackers so I substituted gluten free chocolate chip cookies for his base.  He loved it and so did the rest of us.  So ... with that I started to branch out with ingredients and it really took off from there.

I do keep the regular ingredients on hand ... but I also stock the more adventurous fun items as well.  This year I began to play with chocolate and have settled on two kinds to use, peppermint bar + salted caramel chocolate.  They are both delish + a crowd favorite.

Last week I grabbed some holiday Peeps and the snowmen are so cute both on the tray and squished and toasted in my s'more.  Isn't he so dapper?

I think a large tray is perfect for holding both your supplies and your left over candy trash.  This tray was both the perfect size and so very pretty for this season.  Wouldn't it be so amazing matched with some of your favorite s'more ingredients as a gift for one of your favorite families or as a hostess gift for someone who invited you over for the weekend?  I love it and they will too for sure!  If this size tray is larger than you are looking to purchase this size is ideal.  I would pair it with crackers and cheese knives and let them add in their favorite cheese.  I bought a number of them last year and added breakfast breads and muffins for the teachers for Christmas.  My thought was they would serve them on one of the first mornings off to give them a break from preparing breakfast.

There are only 9 days til Christmas and this week I am all about gift ideas ... stay tuned!

Happy Monday!
