Pink + Lemons With A Cocktail

It should be no surprise to you that I love wearing anything August Morgan.  I have been telling you how much I love her clothes for years.  I love Kate's view on clothes and her designs are perfect for slipping on in the morning and feeling pulled together all day long, especially now.  After wearing leggings and light sweaters for weeks I found myself craving something that made it feel more like real life, so a new August Morgan dress was the perfect option.  Don't you love it ... and the name is even better, the Pink Spritzer.

I think I wore my first polo style dress in high school and loved the fit.  They are super easy to wear, I love the fit in the shoulders and this darling pink one is my new favorite piece in my closet for all of those reasons.  I find myself wearing a ton of dresses + sneakers this year and I do not see the trend ending anytime soon for me.  It is so easy and makes them feel even more comfortable ... so that is a major win, win.  For me there is nothing more preppy and classic than a polo style knit dress and a pair of Tretorns.

I am loving mixing up a cocktail a few nights a week and most definitely on the weekends.  This cocktail recipe was very new to me at the beginning of the shelter in place and now I think it is just so good.  Plus how pretty is it and I get to use coupe glasses, so that just makes it even more fun.  It is called a Bee's Knees and they are super easy to make, and a great way to use up extra lemons. I can't think of anything more perfect for spring than a citrus cocktail and this one is so de-lish.

 Bee's Knees ...

2 oz. gin, I use Hendricks
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz. honey syrup

Shake all ingredients together in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and strain into a chilled coupe glass to serve.

To make honey syrup, mix together 1 T honey with 1/2 T of warm water.

I told you, so easy to make and so delicious.  If you have never worn a piece of Kate's incredible clothing you should most definitely check it out.  You can read all about her dive into fashion in this blog post.  Kate is most famously known for her cheeky cocktail napkins which we own a collection of and are so fun to pull out for cocktail parties.  Everyone loves a good giggle and if you use different ones mixed together your guests can easily find their cocktail.

In a time where we are all taking a major step back I highly recommend getting dressed and having a cocktail in the evenings.  Both of them do so much to help my mood for sure!  I love being on the porch watching the sunset and ending the day with my family and tons of gratitude.  It is definitely the time to be extra thankful.

Happy Saturday!
