My Favorite Devotional

I love using a daily devotional, I think it is the best way to start my day and keep my heart and mind on the right track.  For years I have used two different ones and moved back and forth between them and an app on my phone.  Just the time when I was yearning for a new devotional my friend Anna Louise shared an Instastory of hers and I quickly asked her for the title.  I could tell by the page she shared I would really enjoy it but I had no idea I would crave time with it and miss it when I was busy in the morning.  It is hands down my favorite devotional to date.

The book is called New Morning Mercies by Paul David Tripp and I highly recommend it.  It is a daily devotional with a great page to read and pray on with extra bible references at the bottom for further study.  I have found that the top of the page always gets me, in the best way possible, and then the rest of the text just expands on the topic.  It is a great book for some deep thought and is great and being straight forward with the lesson.  I really, really like this book.

My favorite time of day to do a devotional is first thing in the morning with my coffee.  It doesn't always look this pretty, but it is intentional and that is the best way for me.  The day we shot this I had a pretty new tablecloth + flowers from a best friend + a new candle and there was nothing prettier to me in that moment than pairing it all together.  Of course, the most important thing to see here is the book and the changes it has made in my heart and mind during quarantine.  I happened to purchase it early in March and it has been so good for me during these months of uncertainty.

You can purchase it here, and I highly recommend it for yourself and anyone else that loves a daily devotional.  When I share bits of it online I always get requests for the title.  It is a great resource and perfect for your quiet time ... you will love it, I am sure of it!

Have the best Wednesday ... 💕

  2. I love the devotional too. I saw all your recommendations, and then a friend also recommended it. I bought it and love it as well. And I love that God knew what you would need back in March before we even knew about quarentine. But he did.
