Memorial Day Inspiration

Anyone else so ready for a holiday we can celebrate with others?  I am usually dragging my feet for school to last so the kids will not be another year older, but this year, I am over it.  School is hard, especially on the kids, and I think they need a real break.  So ... bring it on and let's celebrate all summer long.

I am already looking forward to summer.  I have hydrangeas starting to bloom ... which is so exciting ... and I can already see them in a large vase with red and white white roses and all the flags.  I want to set our table on the deck with all the blue and white and really enjoy a grilled summer meal.  This evening while sitting outside with my parents I spotted the first lightening bug.  Summer is truly almost here.

Can you tell I am already planning each and every moment?

I have pulled some fun inspiration for you, all from Pinterest and I have linked them all to one board so you have sources and additional ideas.  When we set the table outside I like to dress it more minimally than I do when we set a table inside.  There are more opportunities to break things, and that is never a good idea. I recently purchased a whole bolt of blue and white seersucker fabric and I think a table cloth of this would be just darling.  I can set it with my Blue Willow dishes, a set of red vintage napkins, add in some small flags and pour drinks into Ball jars.  I literally can see it all ... and I can't wait

If you need some ideas for what to wear while you are eating alfresco with your family ... I added some darling items below ... I am all for dressing for the decor! Summer dresses + sandals ... the perfect recipe. This chambray dress, I think it may be a summer staple!

Happy Wednesday ...

All images can be found on Pinterest ... sources and more in this board.

  1. What happened to Operation Completion you committed to three weeks ago? Every Monday I come looking for an update but haven't seen one. I was excited about this series because it was you getting back to what attracted me to you blog when I started following you - decorating. I realize consumerism pays the bills, but I really miss old Paige.
