Memorial Day Shopping

For me Memorial Day is always the beginning of summer.  Even though the kids get out of school the week before it isn't until Memorial Day weekend that I feel that summer has begun.  With the plethora of hygrangeas and all the red, white and blue it feels like summer should officially begin.  I get excited for the thoughts of lazy summer evenings, ice cream runs, swim days, trips and all the new summer memories.  I never love the idea of another school year ending because it means they are another year older and another year closer to leaving the nest.  The week between school ending and Memorial Day weekend gives me the time I need to emotionally move on. 🎆

I can't think of a better backdrop than the Charleston Harbor for some fabulous red, white and blue.  I love being on the water of any kind and spending those three days with this fabulous resort as the backdrop was just perfection.  Add in a darling hat + bow and I think all my blue and white outfits just got an upgrade, don't you agree? My friend Caroline looked darling pairing it with her beautiful red striped dress.  (For reference the bow above is the Navy Gingham)

I have rounded up all the amazing pieces I could find to share with you for Memorial Day.  So many cute dresses, short sets, and all the red, white + blue your heart could desire. Since my dress is back in stock!!! I recommend grabbing it quickly! I also pulled some amazing earrings, bags and precious shoe options.  With all these amazing pieces I don't even know how you decide ... but I am happy to try!  I can tell you that this bag + these earrings seem like must haves for sure.

If you hang a flag for Memorial Day, or any other day, here are the etiquette rules for displaying and hanging for flag. When we hung our flag last summer I had a hard time finding the rules for hanging a flag properly so my assistant and I drove around my neighborhood and took note of the homes we thought had done it well.  I am so thrilled I hung it on the correct side, that would have made me sad having to redo it properly.  Now I just need to install a light to keep it up 24 hours a day.

I hope your Friday is fabulous! 💙
