So Very Thankful

Our plans for Thanksgiving are still a tiny bit up in the air (depending any thing that happens) but we are planning to be out of town for the day.  I am excited to be with our family and to just have all the moments with those who are so close to us.  We will get up in the morning and drive (not far) and spend a full day with some of our family.  That being said I did not need to plan a table for us here at home.  That did not prevent me from taking some time to set up a great Thanksgiving table to inspire both me and you.

I am excited to share this table for a couple of reasons but most importantly to share that I did not buy one single thing to set this table.  I ran to the market for cheese, crackers and flowers, but otherwise I set the table from my own collection of goodies.  I was so fun.  I seem to always find something in the marketplace that inspires me and then I build a table from there ... but this year I found inspiration in a tablecloth I owned and then built it from there.  It was so fun to shop in my home and I am committed to doing it again very soon.

When I first pulled out this tablecloth (old from Williams Sonoma) I thought I would use only greens and whites and then I spotted the stunning magnolia from Trader Joes.  Green + white became green, white + brown and then I decided my fabulous pies from Southern Baked would be darling on these antique orange and white plates and it became what it is.  I think I love it even more than I thought I would.

These amazing tortoise chargers are from Kayla Sweigart and will be restocked soon for you to purchase some for yourself, which I highly recommend you do. They are truly so pretty and would be ideal for so many seasons and settings. Aren't they like ... really pretty?

I gave you all the details on these delicious and amazing Southern Baked pies last week in this post ... and I highly recommend you order them.  They are soo good and would be the best addition to your feast and the most welcomed hostess gift.  You need to order by 11/20 to get them in time ... so order quickly.

Your only question should be ... apple or pecan or pumpkin, or all of them?

I love using these custom glasses ... and I always have some sort of apple cider punch ready for the day and I will be taking some with me this year.  Apple cider is just perfect for this time of year and I love mixing ginger and some other yummy flavors in the cider.  Add bourbon and you are golden.

Green, orange and brown perfection to me.

We have two Thanksgiving week birthdays ... my mom and our oldest ... and I will be resetting this table for them when we celebrate.  I love how simple the table was for me to pull together and how much I love it so.  And the fall leaves and glow of golden hour in the back, yes please!

This was a new trick for me and one I will be doing going forward.  I set a small appetizer on the table so that it could be snacked on while dinner is finishing.  We ate every single bit of this when the shoot was over, it was that good.  To recreate this you need ... goat cheese with apricot and cranberries + rosemary crackers + fall sweet mix and lastly, some cheese wafers.  I popped into Trader Joes + Henri's Bakery (next door) and snagged it all.

Even though we won't be home this year for Thanksgiving you will see this table again ... and maybe more than once.  I just love the combination so much!

Happy Thursday Lovies!

  2. I'm serving afternoon tea for 10 next Wednesday, and this table is serving as an inspiration. I have served tea to these gals before, and coming up with a new look every time without buying all new things is becoming a challenge. Thanks for the ideas!
