Adding Some Glam ...

What is it about New Years that makes me immediately think of sparkle and glam?  Is it the brand new year we are welcoming or is it that we are celebrating that we successfully (well maybe) made it through another year?  Either way I am all about a little sparkle and a whole lot of shimmer when it comes to the end of the year celebration!

We plan to watch a movie we haven't seen before which will be a new tradition since I usually twist the Hubs arm until he says yes to watching Sense & Sensibility for another year.  This year I am branching out and we will be picking something that will be a new memory for the four of us at home.  New year = new memory. Any great suggestions?

Pajamas All Day Long Please

Anyone else love Christmas pajamas? I mean I love pajamas (as you all know) and adding in the word Christmas and it just gets better! When I was in Charleston at the beginning of the month I surprised my friend Krystine with this nightshirt (25% off with code PJ25) and clearly she loved it.  We both did ... but what's not to love with anything covered in champagne bottles.

Plaid Cape Perfection

I will admit that my favorite purchase this fall season has been this scallop hem plaid cape.  It is darling and the scallop details and gold buttons are so much fun.  Every single time I wear it I get so many compliments.  It is warm and can be worn so many ways so it has been more than worth the cost.  And today it is on sale which is my gift for you ... 40% off on the last Monday before Christmas!  So fun, right?

Introducing Ginny's Orchids

I have been a fan of orchids for a very long time as my parents always had one or two around the house.  They seem to have the touch to keeping them alive as their's are not only thriving but also blooming.  Since I am known for the brown thumb in the family I have purchased quite a few orchids in my time and most definitely the days before we have company coming.  I will rush out, trade out my brown sticks in a pot for a beautiful new orchid and smile the whole time as if somehow I kept that thing alive since the last time they visited.

Travel Shopping Por Moi

Happy Wednesday!!  I came home from Charleston late Sunday night after having a magical three days.  We ate, we shopped, we sipped and we soaked up all things Garden and Gun.  I can't wait to share all the details with you, it was the most fun event.  Garden and Gun rolls out the red carpet and I am completely in awe.  I am already making plans to attend next year.  Oh, and I will not be missing any single moment of the weekend.

On the calendar in sharpie!

My Favorite Holidays Picks

Did anyone else shop til they collapsed on Cyber Monday?  The deals were so good that I ended up doing most of my shopping and scoring a few things for me as well.  I mean, when in Rome, right?  Now that the cyber dust is settling I have pulled together a list of my favorite things I bought and where to find them just in case you also need some ideas for the people in your life.  This year I started with the hardest person in my circle to buy for ... and when I had that person covered it was easy to knock out the rest.  I have some fun ideas for you and while I can't tell you what exactly I bought (peering eyes from the Hubs + kids) I can tell you all the stuff that caught my eye.  I found some amazing ideas that I am super excited to share with you today.  😍

Candlefish For Two

My outfit ... Top || Jeans || Sandals

As I mentioned before Lawyer and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary on August 26.  To celebrate I organized a day for the two of us from the moment we woke up to a wonderful dinner for two at one of our favorite dinner locations.  I truly believe that dating your husband and enjoying adventures together is the key to truly enjoying your marriage.  It is so easy to get bogged down in the day to day schedules and kids needs as they get older and forget all about each other.  I have committed myself (and him) to more adventures and weekly date nights and we have enjoyed each one.  I truly love and adore my husband and its so much fun to carve out time for just the two of us.

Pool Side With Hazen Jewelry ...

I have shared my adoration for Hazen Jewelry and the darling Taylor Miller in the past.  It is no secret that this girl is a rock star and makes the most adorable jewels.  I had the incredible gift of spending a full day with Taylor recently and she shared with me that her newest photo shoot was right up my alley.  When she sent the images I literally gasped.  It was like I died and landed in Palm Beach goodness heaven.

We all know August Morgan for their darling cheeky cocktail napkins that instantly add humor to any cocktail hour. They are fun to give as hostess gifts and even more fun to receive. What's better than a fun napkin to start a conversation among new friends at a cocktail party? I mean, does it get any better?

Well apparently it does ...

Introducing Giddy Paperie

As you know I am a Florida girl and I am drawn to all things coming from the Sunshine State.  I can't really describe it, but I will say I am truly attracted to something I know comes from "home".  I know we share a love of citrus picked straight off the tree, flip flops in all months of the year and desire to spend a full day at the beach.  We just get each other.

This describes my excitement to find yet another amazing company based in Winter Park, Florida.  I loved everything about giddy paperie from the introduction email to the incredible art that becomes note cards, tea towels and so much more.  The Orange you Glad note cards above took me right back to my childhood summers scouting orange groves with my grandfather for the best fruit to purchase. It is like we were able to finish each other sentences from the get go.  I am thrilled to be able to share my newest business obsession with you today.

Located in sunny Winter Park, Florida, giddy paperie, launched a little more than three years ago with the goal of making art a part of everyday life. The new "Chin Chin" collection is the latest in creating what has always been a favorite Blue and White Chinoiserie decor.

"As a painter for all of my life, it's easy to find inspiration in the the everyday 'Littles of Life': a little joke, a little fun and a little perspective." Leslie Chalfont~Founder|Designer

Aren't you obsessed too?

I have such respect for artists, they have such a way of capturing life in a real and tangible sense. Leslie is such a master at capturing her love for her life and the simple things she enjoys with the trends of today.  I love her chinoiserie drawings that combine the classic blue and white with the shells and birds that are apart of her life in Florida. Oh and then the leopard? I truly can't get enough!

I could stare at her art all day long!  I have a huge collection of stationery but I never tire of adding to my collection.  I can't decide between the Blue and White meet the Tropics and Tortoise Time with its amazing bamboo initial!  There are all so good!

I have the privilege of sharing this goodness with you with a fun GIVEAWAY!  I have partnered with giddy paperie to give one lucky reader a set of Blue and White meet the Tropics folded note cards + a set of Pagoda Princess folded note cards both in the color way of your choosing.  I am so excited to share this with you today! A Box Fit For A Mrs.

It is hard for me to believe but one day my one time very tiny girl will become a Mrs.  Of course every mother dreams of the day her daughter will get married and I am just like everyone else. Not to say I am rushing anything, I can't slow time down enough for me, but I know one day it will come and we will plan her perfect wedding to the man we have prayed for since the day she was born.

I Heart HomeGoods ...

Blue & White tray and Stools both from HomeGoods

It is no secret that I am a huge lover of all things HomeGoods.  I pop in about once a week or two, sometimes just to walk around and take in all of the goodness.  If I am knee deep in a project or a styling post I can be found there at least once a day, sometimes more.  HomeGoods is my favorite source for so many different items, it is truly the best location for all things home related. Sometimes it can be a treasure hunt ... and sometimes you truly hit pay dirt and find something you want or need at a fraction of the cost you had originally intended to spend.

Introducing Madeline & Company

I will never forget the day I received an email from Madeline & Company, I had to read it twice. As I was reading my darling assistant was googling the company.  I remember hearing her gasp with excitement. What she discovered was the most adorable and fabulous backpacks I had ever seen. Stylish and large yet still so girly ... the perfect backpack for any girl and something my daughter and I needed immediately.

Christie Shepard and Chris Hutcheson aren't new to the home textiles industry so it was no surprise that they hit the scene with a loud bang with they launched their lifestyle brand Dear Keaton. Perfectly described as "resort living everyday" Dear Keaton is the perfect choice for giving your life and home that well traveled and relaxed feeling.

Introducing Willa Heart

I clearly recall the moment I laid eyes on the first piece of Willa Heart art.  I was scrolling through Instagram one late afternoon and spotted the most amazing original art on my friend Teggy French's feed.  I gasped, scrolled to read the caption and immediately followed and fell in love with this precious girl and her incredible art.

Isn't it divine?

Fast forward just a month or so and my adoration has only grown.   Alyssa Harris and her amazing talent seems to know no end. Of course I love the Staffordshire pups but all the pups are darling. Their faces are truly precious! I love that her originals have layers and you can see those layers in the zoomed in details.  I love the bamboo edges and the greenery.  Truly, I can't think of anything I don't love about her pieces.

I am thrilled to share her work with you today and to get to know this darling Aly along with you.  I truly do love interviews.  You get to learn so many things about people and Aly was so fun in her responses.  I found myself stopping more than once just to say ... how cool is she?

You will love her answers, she is quite a fabulous thing!  Her must haves were my absolute favorite ...

Where did you grow up and how did your childhood influence your life and your life today?

I grew up outside of Boston in a town called Needham. Growing up we split our time between Boston, Florida and on vacation.

When I was very young a teacher picked up on a learning difference I had, later it was diagnosed as Dyslexia. I was moved to a new school that specialized in learning differences and it had a strong art program. I had such a tough time learning to read and struggled with all the other aspects of my learning issues. The problems I encountered made me look at all situations from a different perspective and I think make me extra unique. I have learned to embrace my terrible spelling and I am thankful everyday for my dyslexia.

As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be an actress because Hollywood seemed like the most glamorous place in the world. In my mind I would live at a hotel, have daily beauty treatments, drink Strawberry Daiquiris all day by the pool and tell the hotel staff to keep the chicken nuggets coming. In retrospect maybe I should become an actress?

Did you always want to be an artist?

Yes, but I never thought of it as a career. I always thought it would be something I would do on the side for fun.

What has your career path looked like and how did you get to the present day?

I started working during high school as an intern for a family friend and haven’t stopped since. I have always worked for small businesses, mostly in the fashion industry. In my early 20s I was a showroom manager for a high end men’s custom clothing store in Boston. After that I was a personal assistant, household manager and then worked for a start up. Working for these small businesses has prepared me for having my own business.

How did you decide to take the plunge and launch Willa Heart?

Willa Heart was a hobby until recently but I am embracing this new business and running with it. It always felt like a pipe dream and not something I could actually do but then a few special people posted about it on Instagram and voila, it is real!

Share two people who have inspired your journey and why?

My husband constantly inspires me because he is always on the move and doing doing doing! He is the hardest working person I know and the way he applies himself to even the small tasks is inspiring. He is the definition of a highly productive person.

My friend Megan also inspires me, I have watched her build this amazing brand called APPRVL over the last few years. Seeing someone I know start a creative business and grow it into this amazing thing is wonderful. She is very creative and talented and I want to be just like her when I grow up.

Can you share a high point in your journey and what was that like for you?

Every time I ship out a print to a customer it is the best feeling in the world and definitely a high point. I love to imagine their fabulous home and the frame they will choose and where it is going to be hung and what it will be surrounded by. I can’t imagine anything better than thinking about my paintings being hung in people’s homes.

Anything you must have to spur creativity?

Movies and books. I am always watching old movies, old TV shows and looking at old books for inspiration. Right now I am very into the 1970’s and early 80’s so I have been watching things from that era.

Do you have a favorite thing to create?

Things for my friends. I love making gifts; nothing is better than a homemade gift.

What is your favorite color?

Pink, it’s the color of passion!

What is your favorite way to unwind?

On the couch, watching TV with my husband and dog…I get the remote.

If I spotted you on a random Saturday, what would you be doing?

If I am in South Carolina I am home painting and hanging with my husband. If I am traveling, I am out shopping and walking around for hours. Nothing makes me happier than to just walk and talk and shop all day!

Five must haves.

Leopard print shoes, a red or pink pedicure, diamonds, sushi and TV

Favorite quote.

“Don’t stop till you get enough” – Michael Jackson

Isn't she absolutely adorable??  I am blessed to own a Willa Heart original which she has named Buffy & Muffy (how fabulous!) and I can not wait to get it back from Framebridge and get it on the wall.  I love adding incredible pieces to our art collection and this one will be just perfect.  I am thankful she painted a piece just for me, I feel truly lucky!

To shop my piece and all of her other work check out the Willa Heart website.  She sells most prints in two sizes, 8x10 and 12x16, and each of her pieces is more amazing than the last one!

And can we please discuss her darling shoes?  I tell you, I just can't get enough!!

Happy Tuesday lovies.  I am in the home stretch of the One Room Challenge or as I have learned to recognzie it as hell week crunch time.  There is literally not one minute to waste!  Follow along on my Instastories, I have a huge to do list and no moment to spare!

Have the best day ...
